Nacido en Queensland, Australia, Cody Simpson tuvo una historia bastante parecida a la de Justin Bieber. Colgó versiones suyas de canciones de Michael Jackson y Justin Timberlake a Youtube y llamó la atención de Shawn Campbell, productor nominado al Grammy que ha trabajado con Jay-Z.

Con solamente 13 años de edad, Cody se encuentra en Los Ángeles grabando su álbum de debut, cuyo primer single se titula 'iYiYi' y cuenta con la colaboración del rapero americano Flo Rida, responsable de éxitos como 'Low' (Quíntuple Platino, nº1 en Billboard y casi 6 millones de copias vendidas) y 'Right Around' (Triple Platino y nº1 en Billboard).

Simpson nació en Gold Coast, Queensland; sus padres son Brad y Angie Simpson y tiene 2 hermanos menores, Tom y Alli. Él es también un nadador con talento, ganó dos medallas de oro en los Campeonatos de Queensland Natación. Fue entrenado por Ken Nixon en el Club de Natación de Miami. Angie, madre de Simpson trabaja como voluntaria en el club. Carrera musical.

Simpson se reconoció y se presentó en The 7.30 Report en diciembre de 2009. Cody lanzó el 15 de mayo de 2010 su sencillo debut «iYiYi» con la aparición del rapero Flo Rida, la canción se lanzó en formato de descarga digital el 31 de mayo del 2010, el vídeo musical "iYiYi" tuvo su primera aparición el 30 de junio del 2010. Simpson se mudó a Los Angeles en junio de 2010 para grabar sus canciones con Atlantic Records y su productor Campbell. El mismo mes participó en show Sunrise.

El 22 de junio de 2010, se anunció que Simpson participaria en el Camplified 2010 Tour, junto con otros artistas, de gira en los Estados Unidos. La gira comenzó el 5 de julio de 2010 y finalizó el 13 de agosto de 2010. Fue también el primer concierto público de Simpson. Durante la gira, Simpson interpretó una canción llamada "Love So Strong. Su nombre es Cody Simpsony lo llaman "Justin Bieber" australiano.Fue el destino y el éxito abrumador de Bieber que desató la onda de la búsqueda de otro ídolo con la voz de un ángel.Cody Simpson tiene 14 años,es de Australia,pero se ha trasladado a Estados Unidos para perseguir su sueño se irrumpir la música.
